The group was protesting the construction of a new coal unit at the plant, which is run by Duke Energy Corp.
"The world needs to cut greenhouse emissions 90% to avoid dangerous climate change, which means we can’t build any more fossil-fuel generation," said anti-coal advocate Liz Veazey, who was one of about 12 other protesters who were not arrested.
Several green groups organised protests that took place on Tuesday in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK.
