{"id":25659,"date":"2007-01-03T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2007-01-03T16:10:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-05-14T18:34:22","modified_gmt":"2020-05-14T18:34:22","slug":"659-norway-to-offset-aviation-emissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dialogue.earth\/en\/uncategorized\/659-norway-to-offset-aviation-emissions\/","title":{"rendered":"Norway to offset aviation emissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font size=\"3\"><\/p>\n<div><font size=\"2\">Emissions from jet fuel burned on international flights are among the fastest-growing sources of greenhouse gases &#8212; which contribute to global warming &#8212; but are exempt from emissions targets under the Kyoto Protocol until 2012.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">&quot;The government has decided that when state employees travel by plane abroad, we will buy quotas for the emissions caused by the trip,&quot; said Stoltenberg &#8212; who did not say how much the arrangement would cost.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">Britain has been capturing emissions by government and ministerial air travel since April 2006.
