{"id":25960,"date":"2007-04-26T15:31:00","date_gmt":"2007-04-26T15:31:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-05-14T18:34:57","modified_gmt":"2020-05-14T18:34:57","slug":"960-china-official-wants-action-by-citizens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dialogue.earth\/en\/uncategorized\/960-china-official-wants-action-by-citizens\/","title":{"rendered":"China official wants action by citizens"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>&quot;Relying on the force of environmental protection and a few other agencies  is far from enough,&rdquo; said Pan Yue, deputy director of&nbsp; the State Environmental  Protection Administration (SEPA), in a statement on SEPA&#8217;s website. &ldquo;We need broad public  participation, because the public are the biggest stakeholders in the  environment.&rdquo; <\/div>\n<div>\nChina unveiled rules on Tuesday promising to expose its government to  greater transparency and empowering citizens to demand official  information. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>SEPA became the first government agency to announce its own detailed rules  to enforce the new regulations on open government information.
