The announcement from the State Environmental Protection Administration is in line with the Montreal Protocol, which aims to gradually phase out the use of ozone-depleting chemicals around the world. <\/p>\n

China signed the protocol in 1991, binding the country to stop producing CFCs starting from 1999.<\/p>\n

 "Relevant companies must demolish equipment involved in the production of CFC substances by Aug. 15," the notice added. <\/p>\n
