The report quoted the Guangdong provincial water authority as saying that 1,153 square kilometres (445 square miles) of coastal land would be flooded by 2050, as hotter global temperatures trigger sea level rises of at least 30 centimetres by 2050. <\/p>\n

The booming cities of Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Foshan would be the worst affected, the report said. <\/p>\n
