Around 21,800 fishing boats in Hainan province have returned to shore, China Daily quoted the provincial flood control headquarters as saying on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Heavy rain and strong gales will hit Guangdong and Hainan with the approach of the typhoon, the report said. The "water authorities" are checking the safety of residents in low-lying coastal areas, it added.<\/p>\n
