The studies, from the UK-based Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), suggest that the UK’s cuts have only been achieved by ‘exporting’ emissions to countries like China.<\/p>\n

At the moment, factors such as shipping and imported goods are excluded under international frameworks for carbon accounting.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, an SEI report, which will be published shortly by campaign group WWF, suggests that the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions are 49% higher than reported emissions.<\/p>\n
