Krill populations &#8212; a vital food source<br \/>\nfor penguins &#8212; have also declined.<\/p>\n<p>Many scientists regard a two-degree rise in global average temperature<br \/>\nabove pre-industrial levels as the threshold level for unacceptable<br \/>\nrisks of catastrophic climate change.
