Sumartono Darmanto is a Clean Air and Climate Researcher at the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University. In his recent role as Senior Advisor for the Government of Indonesia’s Prakerja priority programme, he represented the government at various UN conferences and high-level meetings in Morocco, South Korea and at the UN headquarters in the US. He initiated and co-organised the 2023 UNESCO Inclusive Lifelong Learning Conference in Bali, Indonesia.
