Román Baigún coordinates Wetlands International’s Saving High Andean Wetlands for People and Nature Programme from the regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Argentina. He studied Biological Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, and holds a postgraduate diploma in Natural Resources from Curtin University in Perth, Australia.
