Dr Jess Sparks (she/her) is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Her work is applied in nature, aiming to provide an evidence base to end exploitative labour practices in seafood supply chains. Her research centres workers’ lived experiences by using mixed social science methods to understand a range of working conditions in marine capture fisheries, from decent work to forced labour and human trafficking.
