Founded in 1910 by William Sime and Henry Darby (Sime, Darby and Co.), the company merged with long-established companies Guthrie and Golden Hope in 2007. Sime Darby operates across the palm oil supply chain, from managing plantations and mills, to refining certified palm oil and manufacturing edible oils, and other palm oil derived consumer goods. The company operates in Malaysia, Indonesia China, Netherlands, UK, Africa, Thailand and Papua New Guinea. In 2019, Sime Darby separated its supply chain operations to be managed under Sime Darby Plantations (Upstream) and Sime Darby Oils (Downstream).
