About

Established in 2005, following a merger between Aarhus United and Karlshamns AB (both speciality fats and oils companies that were well established in the palm oil industry). AAK is a major player in the global palm oil industry and operates a network of refineries across Europe, the Americas and Asia, selling refined products to large consumer goods manufacturing companies. An early version of Aarhus United (Aarhus Palmekærnefabrik), established in 1871, pioneered the process of fractioning crude palm oil for margarine, as well as the use of palm kernel oil (PKO).
