One billion trees planted ahead of key climate talks

One billion trees have been planted ahead of next month's international climate change conference in Bali, under a drive backed by the UN and the World Agroforestry Centre.

The Billion Tree Campaign was launched at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi last November.

Half of all those who participated were private citizens or households planting one to three trees, said UNEP, while another 13% were planted by the private sector.
