Juan Ortiz has been Dialogue Earth’s editorial assistant in Brazil since late 2022 and is based in Rio de Janeiro. He has experience reporting on human rights, science, health, environmental issues and Latin American politics. Before joining Dialogue Earth, Juan collaborated with different Brazilian media outlets such as Superinteressante, VejaSaúde, Intercept Brasil, Matinal and ((o))eco. He is also an editor of Giro Latino, a weekly newsletter focused on Latin American coverage. As a Colombian-born citizen raised in Brazil, Juan speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English. He also holds a journalism degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
